Introducing Whiz Learning Kids

We offer exciting STEM based afterschool classes and summer camps that unleash the creativity of the child. We teach children ages 6 to 13 the value of technology, engineering, team work, and science. We bring hands on learning and teach classes in Video Game Programming, Digital Story Telling, Animations and Digtal Scrapbooking. We strive for individual satisfaction, and we work with everyone to provide a great learning experience. Kids come to WhizLearning Kids not just to explore technology, but for a kind of personal attention, excitement and creativity rarely found elsewhere.

Mobile Apps

Ages 9 - 13

Have fun learning how to create the next "Angry Birds" or "Bubble Ball" sensation on Android devices.

Mobile App concepts, Programming constructs, Event handlers and logical thinking, Using coordinates

Digital Story & Animation Creation

Ages 7 - 13

The kids learn a visual, block-based, computer programming language editor which enables them to create digital stories, animations and animated games. It is a great way to introduce programming concepts to the kids and develop their analytical thinking skills.

Video Games Design

Ages 7 - 13

This program utilizes the complexities of computer programming to teach students to create their very own interactive computer video game. Students will learn to create characters, backgrounds, and stories for a complete game programming experience. Instructors help students use creative problem solving to work through programming problems and use their creativity in an interactive medium. The game is playable on any PC based computer.

Recommended Ages 9 - 13
Kodu is a visual programming language from Microsoft to give young students the ability to design their own video game. The programming environment runs on the Xbox and PC, allowing very fun game designs and the ability to program your characters. We will be designing car racing games, maze games and lots of other fun projects using a story telling mode.

LEGO WeDo Robotics

Ages 7 - 13

Students experiment and discover engineering basics via trial and error field testing. Rather than just "snapping bricks together," students learn critical thinking skills and modify their robot designs based on varying conditions. The course exposes students to more complex engineering techniques such as pulleys, inclined planes, and gear use. Let's get building!

Website Design

Ages 7 - 13

How cool will it be to design your very own website ? Bring your ideas to life and have a web prescence by designing your website using Weebly. We will also use Pixlr, an online image editing software to create logo or edit images to use them effectively on your website.

Minecraft EDU

Ages 9 - 13

Any Minecraft lovers out there - this is the camp for you ! Prerequisite for this program is to have basic skills of playng with minecraft. We will be exploring new concepts in Minecraft beyond the usual playing. We will be learning Red stone mod functionalities to create fun structures to add to our minecraft worlds like roller coasters, elevators and other fun projects and mini games.

Summer Camp

Week 1: June 5 - 9, 2017
Location: North Gwinnett High School, 9am - 4pm

Theme: Photoshop Design and Video Game Creation

Have you ever wondered how graphic designers use Photoshop to enhance photographs and images to create digital illusions and make cool designs for T-shirt logos and product labels? During this week long summer camp experience campers will learn how the pros make layer-based images, merge photos and apply filters to produce cool special effects. Using fun project-base lessons, campers will be taught how to navigate thePhotoshop interface and use its tools and filters to create their very own digital masterpieces. No boring technology lessons here! Projects include: movie posters, logos, T-shirts, special effects, illusions & much more. We will also be designing video games using Scratch in the afternoons.

Week 2: June 12 - 15, 2017
Location: North Gwinnett High School, 9am - 4pm

Theme: STEAM Camp: Superhero Cartoon Workshop

Pow! Bang! Wow! Now you can learn to draw your own comic book superhero. Each day we will complete several STEAM projects while exploring art and digital 3D design techniques.

Morning Session : We will learn to draw the basic muscular superhero body and adapt it to the character of our choice. We will learn to draw action and movement while we complete the scenes around our superheroes, using pencils, markers and Sharpies™.

Afternoon Session : We will learn 3D Design by creating our imaginative characters in 3 dimensions using the Blender software tool. We will also create digital animation of our 3D character and bring it to life.

Week 3: June 19 - 22, 2017
Location: North Gwinnett High School, 9am - 4pm

Theme: Minecraft and Video Game Design

If you love gaming, this camp is for you! Learn to create cool castles and add redstone mods to build circuits. Create your own world using mods, programming and imagination. We will also be designing videogames like car racing and space invader using Microsoft KODU in the afternoons.

Week 4: July 10 - 13, 2017
Location: Woodward Elementary School, 9am - 4pm

Theme: STEAM Camp: Superhero Cartoon Workshop
